«Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter» er den andre singelen frå albumet No Prayer for the Dying av Iron Maiden frå 1990.[3]

Songen vart opphavleg spelt inn og gjeven ut av Bruce Dickinson for filmmusikken til A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child,[4][5] men Steve Harris likte songen så godt at Iron Maiden spelte han inn på ny.[3] Det vart den einaste singelen til bandet som gjekk heilt til topps på den britiske singellista,[6] trass i at han vart bannlyst på BBC og derfor lite spelt på radio.

I 1989 tok Iron Maiden ein pause frå turneringa, og Zomba bad Dickinson om å skrive ein song for A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.[5] I lag med Gillan-gitaristen (og den framtidige Iron Maiden-gitaristen) Janick Gers, spelte Dickinson inn songen, som han hevdar han skreiv songen på «kring tre minutt» og prosjektet vart utvida til albumet Tattooed Millionaire.[7] Då han høyrte den ferdige songen, syntest Steve Harris han ville passa bra for Maiden og overtydde Dickinson om å spele inn songen med bandet.[3]

Originalversjonen av songen, som vann ein Golden Raspberry-pris for «Verste originale song» i 1989,[8] og er i følgje Dickinson, «heilt forskjellig frå Iron Maiden-versjonen. Arrangementet er det same, men min er på ein måte...smygande. Maiden køyrer på ein måte berre på».[3] Originalversjonen til Dickinson var med på The Best of Bruce Dickinson i 2001.[9]

Bruce Dickinson sa «Me skal gje denne ut på singel på julaftan for å skremme livskiten av Cliff Richard». Dette førte til at songen konkurrerte med Cliff Richard sin «Saviour's Day» om å bli førsteplassen på singellista i juleveka 1990, men sidan han ikkje kom ut offisielt før ei veke etter jul,[10] gjekk han rett til topps på den britiske singellista den 30. desember 1990.[11] Dette skjedde trass i at songen var bannlyst av BBC,[12] som nekta å spele songen på Radio 1 og berre viste eit 90 sekundar langt konsertopptak av songen på hitprogrammet Top of the Pops.[6] B-sida var versjonar av «I'm a Mover» (opphavleg av Free) og Led Zeppelin-songen «Communication Breakdown».

I tillegg til dei vanlege 7"- og 12"-utgåvene, kom singelen ut som ei spesialutgåve på 7" kalla «brain pack».[13]

Musikkvideo inneheld klipp frå filmen The City of the Dead/Horror Hotel[14] (John Llewellyn Moxey, 1960).

Som dei fleste songane frå No Prayer for the Dying vart «Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter» sjeldan spelt etter den påfølgjande turneen, No Prayer on the Road, men han vart spelt på enkelte konsertar i 1992, 1993 og 2003.
