Den sørlege regionen i Etiopia

Dei sørlege nasjonane, nasjonalitetane og folka sin region (amharisk ደቡብ ብሔሮች ብሔረሰቦችና ሕዝቦች ክልል, Ye Debub Biheroch Bihereseboch na Hizboch) er eitt av dei ni distrikta (kililoch) i Etiopia. Han blei skipa i 1996 då den nye, etnisk baserte føderale inndelinga av landet blei innført. Regionhovudstaden er Awasa. Andra større byar er mellom anna Arba Minch, Dila, Hosaena og Sodo. Regionen hadde eit folketal på 15 042 531 i folketeljing 2007,[1] og eit landområde på 112 343 km².[2] Regionen ligg sør i Etiopia, og grensar til det omstridde Ilemitriangelet.
