Iain Matthews (fødd 16. juni 1946) er ein engelsk musikar og låtskrivar. Han vart fødd Iain Matthew McDonald i Scunthorpe i Lincolnshire i England. Han vart i 1960-åra først kjend som Ian McDonald, og seinare i 60-åra og fram til 1989 som Ian Matthews. Etter dette har han teke attende det fornamnet sitt, men skifta etternamn og vart Iain Matthews.
Påverka av både rock and roll og folkemusikk har han hovudsakleg spelt som soloartist, men var med i den første utgåva av Fairport Convention i perioden då dei var kraftig påverka av amerikansk folkrock. Seinare han han fronta band som Plainsong, Hi-Fi, No Grey Faith, More Than A Song og sitt eige Southern Comfort.[1]
