Mothes Point er eit nes 7 nautiske mil (13 km) sørvest for The Gullet på austsida av Adelaide Island. Det vart kartlagd av Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) frå flyfoto teken under Ronne antarktiske forskingsekspedisjon (RARE), 1947–48, og Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition (FIDASE), 1956-57. Det vart namngjeve av United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) etter Dets Mothes, ein tysk glasiolog som i lag med B. Brockhamp gjorde dei første seismiske undersøkingane av ein isbre i Austerrike i 1926.
