The Captain & the Kid er det 29. studioalbumet av den britiske musikaren Elton John, som kom ut i 2006. Det er det andre sjølvbiografiske albumet med tekstforfattar Bernie Taupin og fortsette der Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy frå 1975 tok slutt. The Captain & the Kid omhandla hendingar i liva deira sidan dei starta å arbeide saman 30 år tidlegare.
Interscope Records annonserte at dei ikkje kom til å gje ut fysiske singlar frå albumet, sidan det vart lagt vekt på å presentere albumet som ein heilskap. «The Bridge» vart likevel valt ut for radio. Dette er det første albumet av Elton John og Bernie Taupin med Taupin på omslaget i lag med John. Det er det siste studioalbumet til John med Guy Babylon på klaverinstrument. Han døydde få år etterpå.
The Captain & the Kid nådde 6. plass i Storbritannia og 18. plass i USA.
