Brütal Legend er eit action-eventyrspel utvikla av Double Fine Productions og utgjeve av Electronic Arts for PlayStation 3 og Xbox 360. Det vart utgjeve 13. oktober 2009 i Nord-Amerika og 16. oktober same året i Europa. Brütal Legend skulle i utgangspunktet bli publisert av Vivendi Games, men etter samanslåinga med Activision valde sistnemnde å fjerna spelet frå lanseringsplanane. Spelet vart seinare teke opp av Electronic Arts til publisering, noko som resulterte i at Activision og Double Fine båe sende søksmål mot kvarandre grunna vanskar om publiseringa, men desse er no blitt samde utanfor retten.

Speldesignaren Tim Schafer var inspirert til å skapa spelet etter sine eigne tidlegare musikalske erfaringar. Hovudpersonen i spelet er Eddie Riggs, gjeve stemmen til Jack Black. Han er ein «roadie» som blir send til ei fantasiverd inspirert av kunststilen på omslaga til tungmetall-album. Eddie blir frigjeraren i verda, der han leier dei undertrykte menneska mot ein hær av overnaturlege vesen ved å bruka ei stridsøks, den magiske Flying V-gitaren sin og ein hot rod som han kan endra på. I tillegg til Black, vil spelet også ha røystene til tungmetall-musikarar som Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, Ozzy Osbourne og Lita Ford, røystene til kjendisar som Tim Curry, i tillegg til over hundre metall-songar som Schafer har valt å inkludera i spelet.
