Cheney Bluff er ein bratt fjellskrent ved sørsida av munningen av Carlyonbreen5 nautiske mil sørvest for Cape Murray. Han vart kartlagt av US Geological Survey frå tellurometermålingar og flyfoto, 1959–63 og vart namngjeven av Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names etter kapteinløytnant D.J. Cheney, ein kaptein frå Royal New Zealand Navy på HMNZS «Rotoiti» som fungerte som havstasjon mellom Christchurch og McMurdo Sound 1963–64.[1][2]
