Detour Island er ei øy som ligg 2,5 nautiske mil vest for False Cape Renard, på vestsida av Lemaire Channel i Wilhelm Archipelago. Ho vart først kartlagd av Den franske antarktisekspedisjonen, 1903–05, under Jean-Baptiste Charcot, og fekk dette namnet av UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee i 1959 fordi øya ligg nær innløpet til skipsruta vest for Booth Island som er ei alternativ rute til Lemaire Channel når hovudruta er blokkert av is.[1]
