Fadno er ei samisk røyrfløyte eller primitiv obo laga av sløkje eller kvann. Instrumentet er laga av eit røyr frå planten med mellom tre og seks, vanlegvis fire, fingerhol.[1] Ho verker ikkje å ha hatt parallellar blant skandinaviske nabofolk.[2]

Instrumentet er laga av eit stykke kvann på 15–30 cm. Fadno er eit omgrep for eit år gammal kvann,[3] og har gjeve instrumentet namnet sitt.[4] Røyrbladet blir kategorisert som idioglottic concussion-reeds,[5] det vil seia at det er danna frå sjølve tuba som utgjer instrumentet.[6]
