English: Kurban Tulum (قۇربان تۇلۇم) (1883-1975) a Uyghur peasant. Before 1949, he was poor. After 1949, his life was much better than before, so he thanked the CCP a lot, and hoped to see Mao Zedong. In 1958, he met Mao in Beijing (Peking), and his story became famous in China.
