«Get Down and Get with It» er ein song av de amerikanske R&B-songaren og låtskrivaren Bobby Marchan, først gjeven ut som «Get Down with It» på B-sida til singelen hans «Half a Mind» i 1964.[4] I 1967 spelte den amerikanske songaren Little Richard inn sin eigen versjon, som han gav ut på singel.[5] I 1971 spelte det britiske rockebandet Slade inn ein versjon av songen som «Get Down and Get with It», basert på utgåva til Little Richard, og dette gav bandet den første britiske hitten deira.[6]

Slade-versjonen[endre | endre wikiteksten]

«Get Down and Get with It» vart gjeven ut av Slade i 1971. Det var den første singelen deira som gjekk inn på den britiske singellista då han nådde 16. plassen der og låg på lista i 14 veker.[6] Versjonen til Slade vart produsert av Chas Chandler og kom seinare ut på samlealbumet Sladest i 1973.[7]
