Ronald Wayne Langacker (fødd 27. desember 1942) er ein amerikansk lingvist fødd i Fond du Lac i Wisconsin. Langacker er best kjend som ein av grunnleggjarane av kognitiv lingvistikk og skaparen av kognitiv grammatikk. Han er professor emeritus ved University of California i San Diego.
Biografi
[endre | endre wikiteksten]Langacker fekk BA-graden i fransk i 1963, MA-graden i lingvistikk i 1964 og Ph.D.-graden i lingvistikk i 1966, alle ved University of Illinois i Urbana-Champaign. Frå 1966 til 2003 var han professor i lingvistikk ved University of California i San Diego. Frå 1997 til 1999 var han president i International Cognitive Linguistics Association. Han har vore med i to doktorgradskomitear ved Universitetet i Oslo, for Tore Nesset (1997) og Bjørghild Kjelsvik (2008).
