The Waist er eit eid mellom Herbert Plateau og Foster Plateau nord i Graham Land. Det vart fotografert av Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition (FIDASE) i 1956-57 og kartlagt frå desse bileta av Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS). Det fekk dette namnet av UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) i 1960.
