Detailed description: These pictures show how people in this locality preserve the fertility of their land. ...[This image shows] a manure spreader being loaded and operated. This last is not a usual or necessary practice, and no farmer has enough barnyard manure for all his tillage. This operator, however, puts all he has on the land and believes that it is worth his while to do so, since it acts to make a good crop better.
