Arthur Edward Waite, kjend som A.E. Waite, (2. oktober 1857–19. mai 1942) var ein amerikanskfødd britisk poet og akademisk mystikar som skreiv mykje om okkulte og esoteriske spørsmål, og var medskapar av tarotkortstokken Rider-Waite. Han levde det meste av livet i eller nær London, knytt til ulike forlag og som redaktør for bladet The Unknown World. Biografen R.A. Gilbert skreiv om han at «namnet til Waites har overlevd ettersom han var den fyrste til å prøva å skapa ein systematisk studie av historia til vestleg okkultisme, sett på som ein åndeleg tradisjon heller enn som delar av proto-vitskap eller ein patologi av religionen.»[a][1]
