Baines Nunatak er ein nunatak med ei høgd opp mot 1020 m aust for Bernhardi Heights og 10 nautiske mil nordvest for Jackson Tooth i Pioneers Escarpment i Shackletonkjeda. Han vart fotografert frå lufta av U.S. Navy i 1967, kartlagd av British Antarctic Survey i 1968–71, og namngjeven i 1977 av UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee etter Thomas Baines (1822–75), ein engelsk oppdagar som i lag med William Barry Lord skreiv Shifts and Expedients of Camp Life, Travel and Exploration (London, 1871).[1]
