Palatal consonants[endre wikiteksten]
(please apologize for not writing in NN) nj, lj are phonologically palatals (like in other Saami languages). No matter how they are pronounced phonetically, in a phonological description one would rather merge them with the other palatals (cf. the labial row, incl. the labiodental f).
