Dixson Island er ei høg isdekt øy, som er 10 nautiske mil lang og 8 km brei, ved vestsida av enden av Ninnis Glacier. Ho vart oppdaga av Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911–14) under Douglas Mawson, som namngav ho etter Sir Hugh Dixson frå Sydney, som støtta ekspedisjonen økonomisk.[1]
