The first group of articles is about en:Philately (Filateli). The second group of articles is about a different notion, which is en:Stamp collecting (Frimerkesamling). This must be properly reflected in the interwikis. At the moment, the Frimerkesamling article contains the interwikis that are appropriate for the Filateli article. Hope my clarification is helpful and directly shows that my edits were not vandalism at all. - I apoligize for the word vandalism. On the other hand, you are quite mistaken. In the norwegian language (and also, I believe, in the other nordic languages) this distinction does not exist. Filateli and frimerkesamling is synonymous. So when you removed the interwikis to the other nordic languages (at least) you destroyed valid links. - The term philately means the studying of stamps and other post-related objects, their design, production and uses. And this is also what no:Filateli says. Stamp collecting is just a process, a hobby of acquisition and collecting of stamps itself, and one can be a simple collector but not a philatelist. - There is no such thing as universal notions, I think. You are talking about the meanings of words in different languages and what you writes above pertains to the english language, not norwegian. As the Nynorskordbok clearly states: filateli m1 (gr nyl av fil- og ateleia 'avgiftsfritak') det å samle frimerke; interesse for, kunnskap om frimerke. As I told you already, possibly there is a difference between philately and stamp collecting in english, in norwegian this difference does not exist. --Ekko 6. mars 2009 kl. 12:08 (CET)
