Silly Symphonies

Silly Symphonies er namnet på ein serie animerte kortfilmar laga av Walt Disney Productions frå 1929 til 1939. Serien inneheld 75 filmar med ulike forteljingar og figurar.

Disney hadde hatt stor suksess med teiknefilmen Steamboat Willie i 1928. Men formatet med faste karakterar på skjermen gav ikkje rom nok for eksperimentering med nye teknikkar. Dermed kom ideen om Silly Symphonies fram. Silly Symphonies skulle vere teiknefilmar utan avgrensing til noko tema eller faste figurar. Derimot var filmane basert på at handlinga følgde musikalske tema. Fleire av dei fortel eventyr, men elles viser dei svært ulike miljø og figurar, som levande tre og blomar, skjelett og demonar, gåsemordiktfigurar og ulike dyr.
