Edgar Gómez (fødd 4. oktober 1944) er ein jazz-kontrabassist frå Santurce i Puerto Rico, kjend for arbeidet sitt med Bill Evans Trio frå 1966 til 1977.

Gómez flytta med familien sin i ung alder til New York, der han voks opp.[1] Han spelte i The Newport Festival Youth Band (leia av Marshall Brown) frå 1959 til 1961 og tok eksamen ved Juilliard i 1963.[2]

Han spelte med musikarar som Gerry Mulligan, Marian McPartland, Paul Bley, Steps Ahead og Chick Corea.[1] Han var elleve år totalt i lag med The Bill Evans Trio, med konsertar i USA, Europa og Asia, og dusinvis med innspelingar.[1]

Gjennom karrieren har han stort sett vore akkompagnatør. I tillegg til å ha spelt i studio med mange kjende jazzmusikarar, har han spelt inn musikk som leiar for Columbia Records, Projazz og Stretch.[1] Mange dei nyare prosjekta hans har han leia eit band i lag med jazzpianisten Mark Kramer.[2]
